BlackBerry Z10 vs Samsung Galaxy S3 ed Apple iPhone 5: video comparativa

BlackBerry Z10 è disponibile da pochi giorni e le comparazioni con i top di gamma delle altre piattaforma mobile non si contano. In attesa di una nostra prova diretta vogliamo mostrarvi due filmati che metto a confronto il nuovo device della casa canadese con il Samsung Galaxy S3 e l’Apple iPhone 5, giusto per completare la serie di OS dopo il video confronto con il Nokia Lumia 920.

Quel che appare evidente, aldilà delle considerazioni specifiche, è che lo Z10  riesce a tener testa su diversi fronti, anche se confrontato con due ‘best seller’ che stanno raccogliendo decine di milioni di vendite e possono contare su diversi antenati, dal quale si sono lentamente evoluti. Questo vantaggio BlackBerry non l’ha avuto: con lo Z10 si è reinventato tutto d’accapo, partendo sin da subito con un device convincente e al passo con i tempi.

Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear Launches Next Week For Xbox 360, PS3 and PC (video)

Polish developers Teyon Games have this week announced that their new game Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear will be launching on January 29th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The new Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear provides an on-rails shooting experience, catapulting players straight into rapid-fire action, and has been  updated with a new graphics engine. Watch the trailer after the jump to see it in action.

Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear includes a 4-player cooperative mode, and has 60 achievements and awards to collect on Xbox 360, and  more on PS3 consoles. Its developers explain a little about the games story in todays press release:

Dust 514 Beta Opens Its Doors To All And Releases New Trailer (video)

Today the new EVE Online first-person-shooter spin-off Dust 514 has opened its doors for public beta testing, allowing anyone with a PS3 to join up and fight for a cause.

To celebrate the Dust 514 beta opening to all, CCP Games has also released a new cinematic trailer providing a glimpse into the infantry and vehicle warfare of Dust 514, and its effects on the EVE Online game.

CCP Games claims that this is the first time two games from two different platforms and genres have linked together to create one integrated world. So is you own a PS3, PlayStation 3 gamers can now download and play the game in its pre-release form.

Elder Scrolls Online Closed Beta, Now Accepting Applications (video)

If you are patiently waiting to play the new Elder Scrolls Online  game currently in development, you might be please to learn that Bethesda has this week opened up signups for its closed Elder Scrolls Online beta development stage.

The Elder Scrolls Online is slated for release in 2013 and is being developed by ZeniMax Online Studios, and the new game will support PC, Mac and Windows 8 once officially launched later this year.

Come spesso avviene, i rumors che girano attorno ai dispositivi Apple di prossima generazione generano Hype, catalizzando l’interesse di pubblico e designer che spesso provano ad immaginare un nuovo prodotto dandogli vita attraverso la realizzazione di video-concept e mock up.

Quasi parallelamente al rilascio di iPhone 5 hanno cominciato ad affiorare nell’immediato i primi rumors riguardanti la versione 5S, seguite da incessanti speculazioni su una versione low-cost prevista durante il 2013, voci sicuramente incoraggiate dalla commercializzazione di iPad mini, modello più piccolo ed economico del fratello maggiore iPad di quarta generazione. La più recente voce riportata dagli analisti riguarda un fantomatico dispositivo chiamatato ” iPhone Math “, le cui caratteristiche rendono poco credibile l’idea di una commercializzazione a breve termine ma che hanno scatenato la fantasia di alcune menti creative, prodigatesi in interpretazioni personali di come potrebbe apparire il device, sotto forma di immagini concept.

AirDroid v2 Beta Browser Android Device Manager Now Available To All (video)

After being in closed beta developed a  new update has rolled out to the handy browser based application AirDroid, taking it to version two and bringing with it a number of new features and enhancements, as well as opening the beta up to all.

AirDroid v2 Beta has been designed to provide Android users with a free app that allows you to manage your Android device by logging into your account via a web browser. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

New features in the latest AirDroid v2 Beta include a “Find Phone” option, together with a neat enhancement that allows you to access you Android devices camera directly from your PC.

Blackberry Z10 Hands-on Demo Leaked (video)

Following on from the leaked press shots earlier in the week, now the first hands-on look at the Blackberry Z10 smartphone has been released by Telekom-Presse, providing us with a glimpse of what we can expect from the Z10 when it officially launches.

The video reveals that the Blackberry Z10 will be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor supported by 2GB of RAM and will include 16GB of internal memory.

The Blackberry Z10 is also equipped with 4.2-inch HD display  with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, and weighs 125grams or 4.4 ounces. RIM’s new BlackBerry 10 smartphones, will launch on January 30th along with the new BlackBerry 10 OS.

Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been leaked as yet, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.

Dust 514 Moves To Open Beta On Jan 22nd 2013 For PS3 (video)

Following on from the CCP announcement last week, which started to merge the closed beta Dust 514 test servers with Eve Online game servers. CCP has this week announced the Dust 514 open beta release date of January 22nd 2013.

Dust 514 a PS3 exclusive game when launched will be a free-to-play first-person shooter and is connected directly to CCP awesome space game, Eve Online. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the Dust 514 game and see it in action.

CCP boss Hilmar Veigar Pétursson explained:  “The launch of the Dust 514 Open Beta is another step towards our long-term vision for CCP and Eve,”- ”But this is just the beginning. As we have done with Eve Online, in the coming weeks, and for years to come, we will continually improve upon and add to the Dust 514 experience, as well as add deeper integration between the two games and their communities.”

CCP also confirmed that those currently within closed beta will face no further character resets, and that gamers currently not enjoying the closed beta can get a head start before the open beta begins via the Dust 514 Mercenary Park, which is available to purchase from the  PlayStation Store. Crysis 3: rilasciato il terzo episodio de Le Sette Meraviglie (Video)

 

 

Giunge puntale l’appuntamento con le Sette Meraviglie di Crysis 3. La serie di corti diretti da Albert Hughes raggiunge così il suo terzo episodio, svelando ancora una volta una serie di dettagli legati a Nanodome e all’equipaggiamento del protagonista del gioco.

Il nuovo filmati mette in risalto la potenza della Nanosuit, la nuova tuta a disposizione del giocatore in grado di adattarsi a ogni tipo di ambientazione e garantire al proprio alter ego virtuale un totale effetto camaleontico, utile per non farsi scoprire dai nemici.

Il video distribuito è caratterizzato da un montato molto particolare. Infatti il tutto viene proposto a ritroso, sfruttando inoltre la tecnica dello slow motion.

Soluzione che mette in risalto non solamente la beltà della Nanosuit e la sua intrinseca potenza, ma sottolinea inoltre gli effetti visivi che impreziosiscono il gioco.

Crysis 3 è senza dubbio uno dei titoli più attesi di questo nuovo anno, il quale non potrà essere affrontato dai possessori di Nintendo Wii U a causa di accordi commerciali presi tra Electronic Arts e Nintendo. Di conseguenza gli amanti della seria potranno affrontare il nuovo capitolo su Playstation 3, Xbox 360 e Pc.

Bisogna però attendere il mese di febbraio, periodo in cui Crysis 3 vedrà luce sugli scaffali dei negozi specializzati. Nel frattempo non resta che godersi il terzo episodio de Le Sette Meraviglie.

Music publishers caught faking billions of YouTube video views

It’s funny how music publishers are determined to stamp out piracy through lawsuits, pushing hard for new laws, and advertising campaigns to highlight how bad piracy is and then they get caught breaking the law themselves. When it comes to bolstering revenue from YouTube videos, they don’t mind breaking the rules and generating billions of fake views.
Google has caught three music publishers doing just that, and deleted billions of video views in response. The culprits are RCA, Sony/BMG, and Universal. They were all caught using online services in order to generate more views for specific videos to create more interest as the videos are seen as being popular and in turn get more exposure. The views also generate revenue for Google and the music publishers from the adverts positioned next to them.

RCA added 39 million fake views to its videos, Sony/BMG added 847.7 million, but Universal had well over a billion fake views removed from videos. Corporations are truly sickening sometimes.

Crysis 3: rilasciato il secondo episodio de Le Sette Meraviglie (Video)

L’appuntamento con il nuovo episodio de “Le Sette Meraviglie di Crysis 3″ è oramai giunto. Gli sviluppatori di casa Crytek rilasciano infatti il nuovo corto girato dal famoso regista Albert Huges.

L’arco è il vero protagonista dell’intero video, arma silenziosa e letale che viene sfruttata in modo da eliminare i vari nemici del momento. L’eroe di turno fa sfoggio inoltre della possibilità di diventare invisibile, in modo da sorprendere i nemici con attacchi improvvisi.

Un filmato davvero galvanizzante che mostra le peculiarità del gioco,soprattutto a livello del motion engine. I movimenti dell’erba e dell’acqua sono qualcosa di esaltante e soprattutto ricreati alla perfezione.

Le stesse sensazioni le abbiamo provate durante il breve hands-on che siamo riusciti ad eseguire durante il terzo giorno del Games Week, confermando così la beltà del gioco. D’altronde il brand è senza dubbio uno di quei marchi che continua a confermare una qualità fuori dal comune, che difficilmente moltissimi altri giochi riescono a raggiungere.

Ci vuole ancora un po’ di pazienza quindi, Crysis 3 vedrà luce sugli scaffali dei negozi specializzati il prossimo 21 Febbraio. Nel frattempo non resta che godersi il secondo episodio de “Le Sette Meraviglie”.

YouTube celebra il 2012 attraverso un video ironico

Quale modo migliorare per raccontare l’anno che sta per finire, se non attraverso un simpatico video made in YouTube? Il popolare sito di video sharing ha creato un video che racconta gli eventi che hanno caratterizzato il 2012. Il tutto in chiave decisamente ironica.

Le canzoni utilizzate non sono state prese a caso. Trattasi di Call Me Maybe di Carly Rae Jepsen e Gangnam Style di PSY. Due tormentoni che ci hanno accompagnato per diversi mesi battendo record su record, anche in termini di visualizzazioni.

Tomb Raider: rilasciato la prima Guida alla Sopravvivenza

Gli sviluppatori di Square Enix rilasciano nuovi dettagli riguardanti il nuovo episodio di Tomb Raider, distribuendo il primo video della serie “Guida alla Sopravvivenza”, come effettivamente annunciato in precedenza.

Il trailer riporta alcune fasi di gioco in cui vediamo Lara impegnata in una serie di situazioni al limite, e soprattutto alla possibilità di livellare le abilità della protagonista. Esperienza che non solo viene accumulata da Lara ma anche dalle stesse armi che lei stessa utilizza, aggiornandole tramite l’apposito menu.

Non mancano certo i momenti dedicati alla risoluzione dei puzzle, i quali sembrano essere spesso e volentieri di natura ambientale. Inoltre si nota fin dal primo minuto del video la cruenza che attanaglia l’intero titolo.

Effettivamente le scene di combattimento sono particolarmente efferate, simbolo della totale disperazione che circonda Lara e la situazione creatasi. Inoltre la presenza di belve feroci aumenta sempre più la sensazione di essere la preda del momento.

Tomb Raider si presenta davvero in splendida forma e abbraccia la concezione di quanto visto in Assassin’s Creed 3 e Far Cry 3, dando vita a un action dal contorno quasi gore. Siamo davvero curiosi di mettere le mani sul codice finale del titolo, dato che sembra essere davvero promettente.

Nel frattempo non resta che godersi il primo video della “Guida per la Sopravvivenza”.

Crysis 3 al massimo con Core i7 2600K e GeForce GTX 680 (Video)

Electronic Arts e Crytek hanno pubblicato i requisiti minimi, consigliati e massimi di Crysis 3, il nuovo FPS della storica serie nata su PC e arrivata anche su console con il secondo capitolo. Il mese di febbraio 2013 si avvicina e per questo gli sviluppatori hanno tolto i veli alle configurazioni necessarie per gustarsi la loro nuova creatura.

I requisiti minimi, che determinano i componenti necessari per far funzionare il gioco, indicano che serve un sistema operativo Microsoft (Windows Vista, Windows 7 o Windows 8), una CPU dual-core, una scheda video DirectX 11 con 1 GB di memoria dedicata e 2 GB di RAM (3 GB con Windows Vista).

I love shooting people much more than buildings, but when it is executed correctly I love it, even though it is not my favorite thing to shoot. I could look at good architectural photography all day. What’s interesting is how architectural photographers use light to sculpt, add contrast, and bring out details in their work. Far Cry 3: svelata la modalità co-op con un nuovo video

Il conto alla rovescia è ormai prossimo al termine e Ubisoft decide di mantenere altissimo l’hype che circonda il nuovo episodio della serie Far Cry.

Dopo aver visionato il video introduttivo del gioco, seguito i consigli su come sopravvivere sull’isola e molto altro ancora, gli sviluppatori decidono di distribuire un nuovo trailer riguardante la modalità cooperativa di Far Cry 3.

I programmatori confermarono già in precedenza la possibilità di affrontare l’avventura in compagnia di un amico ma effettivamente non sono mai stati rilasciati dettagli in grado di spiegare perfettamente il funzionamento delle procedure associate e far luce su alcuni importanti aspetti tecnici.

I giocatori potranno sfruttare lo split screen per un massimo di due giocatori oppure ripiegare sulla più classica opzione on rete, affrontando così un’avventura creata per l’occasione. Lo scozzese Callum, l’ex soldato Tisha, il poliziotto Leonard e il killer russo Mikhail sono i quattro personaggi di cui gli utenti potranno vestire i panni.

Senza ombra di dubbio il trailer mostra perfettamente le fasi di gioco dedicate alla cooperativa, sottolineando inoltre come la modalità sia perfettamente implementata. Non resta che godersi il video rilasciato, ingannando così l’attesa della data di release ufficiale di Far Cry 3.

Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, rilasciata la data ufficiale

Il brand Army of Two torna a far parlare di sè dopo il secondo non proprio ispirato episodio. Visceral Games è il team che sta seguendo i lavori di sviluppo, i quali confermano di utilizzare il motore grafico di Battlefield, tale Frostbite 2.

Electronic Arts sottolinea inoltre che i videogiocatori che effettueranno il preordine potranno contare automaticamente sulla versione Overkill Edition, la quale permette l’accesso immediato a tre Overkillers Contracts.

Più precisamente sarà possibile utilizzare TAH-9, una pistola automatica,  il fucile automatico Double D (che si può usare mentre si indossano gli abiti Overkill), e Day of the Dead, fucile d’assalto con maschera e abbigliamento compresi.

Il brand Army of Two risale al non troppo lontano Marzo 2008, donando ai giocatori uno dei primi titoli completamente affrontabili in sessioni di gioco cooperative. I protagonisti Elliot Salem e Tyson Rios hanno saputo conquistare il pubblico, sebbene il titolo non brillasse di luce propria.

Il secondo episodio non porta niente di nuovo al titolo, se non qualche aggiunta alle meccaniche di gioco, ma nulla più. Siamo davvero curiosi di poter mettere le mani su Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, in quanto riteniamo il brand davvero accattivante, seppur effettivamente mal sfruttato.

Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel verrà rilasciato in Europa il giorno 29 Marzo. Nell’attesa non resta che godersi il trailer del gioco e augurarvi una splendida visione.
