Maingear welcomes AMD A-Series APUs to its F131 and X-Cube desktop PCs

In a move to make its desktops more palatable to the masses, Maingear is bringing AMD’s integrated A-Series APUs to its F131 tower and X-Cube desktop PCs. Upon learning the news, we took a peek at the manufacturer’s website and found a customizable X-Cube available with a $649 starting price, which compares favorably to its $939 Intel counterpart. Unfortunately, the company has yet to update its website with AMD customization options for the F131. Regardless, we’re told that shoppers can expect to find both standard and Black Edition options for AMD’s chips, the latter which should appeal to overclockers. Maingear Nomad 17 Custom Quad Core 3.8GHz, 32GB RAM Gaming Notebook Launches

 

Maingear has this week launched a new addition to its powerful range of gaming notebooks, in the form of the Maingear Nomad 17 Custom gaming laptop, which has been created to run even the most intensive and power hungry games.

The new Maingear Nomad 17 gaming laptop features support for 3rd generation Intel quad-core processors up to 3.8GHz, supported by up to a massive 32GB of DDR3-1600MHz RAM.

Together with graphics provided by NVIDIA GTX 600 series cards, with options for NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 675M, upgradeable to the GeForce GTX680M if desired.

Maingear Solo 21 receives a makeover, $899 all-in-one PC is now fully upgradable

Back in March, Maingear entered the world of the all-in-one PC with the utilitarian Solo 21. Even though the unit is now only five months old, it’s being replaced with a model that’s more attractive, more functional and that carries a lower price. We’re most excited that the redesigned Solo 21 is now fully upgradable — and yes, this includes the Mini-ITX motherboard itself. Available from $899 on up, the baseline configuration includes a 3.3GHz Intel Core i3 2125 CPU (Ivy Bridge), 4GB of RAM, 500GB of storage, a DVD burner, Bluetooth, WiFi and Windows 7 Home Premium. Maingear brings Intel i7-3960X Extreme Edition chip, Epic Audio Engine to desktops, extreme gamers

Today, the company announced yet another upgrade to its SHIFT, Quantum SHIFT and F131 desktops, with the addition of the Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition processor. According to Maingear, this extra horsepower will provide gamers with a 34 percent improvement in performance at normal speeds, while offering similar enhancements in video editing and 3D rendering capabilities. That’s all thanks to the fact that the i7-3960X can be overclocked at a handsome 5.2GHz, with a quad-channel memory structure that brings even more bandwidth to the table. It’s been a while since we last laid eyes on Maingear’s fine looking Clutch-15, and while it’s still rocking that sexy exterior, the latest iteration has a little surprise for you under the hood. With the recent addition of NVIDIA’s graphics switching Optimus technology, this portable’s bringing the juice — battery juice, that is. Aside from that, things look mostly the same, inside and out; you’ve still got your pick of Intel Core i3 or i5 CPUs, a 750GB HDD or 512GB SSD, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and the same (still disappointing) WXGA display.
