New Call of Duty Confirmed For 2013 By Activision Blizzard
During their fourth quarter and calendar year 2012 results Activision Blizzard, has confirmed that they will be releasing a new instalment in the Call of Duty franchise.
Activision CFO Dennis Durkin confirmed the launch of a new game in 2013 under the Call of Duty banner, but no details on the new game have been released as yet.
The most recent game to launch late last year Call of Duty installment, Black Ops 2, grossed $1 billion in the first 15 days of its release, helping Activision Blizzard t report better than expected fourth quarter results.
“We are very pleased to report that Activision Blizzard delivered the best performance in its history,” Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick stated. “As we look to 2013, we will continue to invest in our established franchises, as well as several new properties. We expect these investments to drive our growth over the long term and to enable us to deliver superior returns to our shareholders in the years to come.”

OUYA Creators Already Planning OUYA 2 & 3
Ouya, the Kickstarter-grown home console with mobile phone / tablet innards will also be subject to mobile-style yearly iterations, according to Ouya’s Julie Uhrman. The company plans to avoid punishing early adopters by making all Ouyas backwards compatible and marrying games to user accounts for an easy transition between yearly versions of the console.
“There will be a new Ouya every year. There will be an Ouya 2 and an Ouya 3″ she explained. ”We’ll take advantage of faster, better processors, take advantage of prices falling. So if we can get more than 8GB of Flash in our box, we will.” However, there’s no word on what the company is doing to drive an annual refresh rate, which in the mobile industry is driven by a combination of carrier pricing and marketing.

La Tirannia di Re Washinghton sarà infatti suddivisa in tre episodi, denominati L’Infamia, Il Tradimento e La Redenzione. Grazie a questi pacchetti i giocatori potranno vivere una versione alternativa agli eventi successivi alla Rivoluzione americana.
Assassin’s Creed III potrà vantare di una serie di missioni aggiuntive in grado di allungare la longevità di un titolo effettivamente già profondo e pieno di attività da affrontare, sia nella Campagna principale che in rete.

Nvidia has been popping out Kepler cards like a circus clown car since the company launched its 6-series GPUs in early 2012, and now we finally reach the bottom of the GTX barrel with the $150 GeForce GTX 650 Ti. This card slots in right below the $230 GTX 660 and has less of everything—less CUDA, less memory (and a narrower memory bus width), and less PCB.
Though a 6-inch PCB is certainly not small—cough—it makes the 650 Ti the smallest card we’ve tested in a while. Since this particular board is overclocked, Gigabyte has bolted on a dual-fan cooling mechanism that adds three inches to the card’s length. Gigabyte has also doubled the card’s RAM allotment over the reference design to 2GB. The extra RAM and cooling adds $20 to the price tag, as well.
Xbox 720 to require an Internet connection to function?
According to gaming publication Edge, the launch of the Xbox 720 comes with some bad news for gamers. This is because the console will be an always-connected device that will require a constant connection to the next version of Xbox Live in order to function.
The games will be made available to buy through Xbox Live or in physical form using a 50GB Blu-ray disc format and a one-time use activation code. Yes, if true, the used gaming market would be dead. The leaked specs of the machine are a 1.6GHz 8-core AMD processor, 800MHz GPU, and 8GB RAM. We can also expect the next generation of Kinect hardware, but this will be a separate product gamers can buy.

Cooler Master Force 500, un case mid-tower per giocatori
CM Force 500 è il primo case della nuova linea CM Force di Cooler Master. Si tratta di uno chassis mid-tower in acciaio e plastica dedicato ai videogiocatori (pesa 5,23 chilogrammi), con l’interno riverniciato di nero e una porta USB 3.0 per il trasferimento dei dati sulla parte frontale. Completano la dotazione due USB 2.0, un jack per il microfono e uno per l’audio.
A occuparsi dell’archiviazione troviamo due alloggiamenti da 5,25 pollici, otto da 3,5″ (uno esposto, sette nascosti) e un alloggiamento da 2,5″ (nascosto). Secondo Cooler Master il Force 500 ha spazio a sufficienza per ospitare un impianto a liquido (supporta un radiatore da 240 mm e uno da 120 mm, oppure tre radiatori da 120 mm), schede madre ATX e micro-ATX e schede video ad alte prestazioni e dimensioni generose come la GeForce GTX 680 o la Radeon HD 7970 (massimo 320 mm).

Dal sito sweclockers.com arrivano nuove indiscrezioni sulla tanto attesa scheda video Nvidia GeForce GTX 780, nome in codice Titan. Questa volta si parla del quantitativo di memoria che, facendo due calcoli, visto il bus a 384 bit e l’ipotetico utilizzo di 20 chip da 4 Gbit (da “sistemare su entrambi i lati del PCB), potrebbe arrivare a un quantitativo di 6144 MB.
Ricordiamo che Titan utilizzerà una GPU GK 110 con 7.1 miliardi di transistor e una potenza di calcolo a dir poco spaventosa. Se venisse confermata questa indiscrezione potremmo essere di fronte a una scheda a dir poco gigantesca anche a livello di dimensioni; attendiamo qualche dichiarazione da parte di Nvidia che, sempre secondo la fonte, potrebbe commercializzare la scheda a 899 dollari.

Il mouse è equipaggiato con ben 9 pulsanti e un sensore ottico AVAGO 3090 con una risoluzione massima di 4000 DPI, modificabile on-the-fly. Il CM Storm Recon è un mouse cablato con interfaccia USB 2.0 e, attraverso la memoria onboard da 32KB, permette di salvare ben 5 profili e 36 Macro.
AMD Never Seattle Reloaded Bundle: c’è anche Crisys 3
Svelata già nei giorni scorsi, parte oggi la nuova campagna “invernale-primaverile” AMD Never Seattle Reloaded Bundle che, come quella autunnale prevede la vendita (attraverso i partner) di schede video Radeon HD 7800/7900 con in bundle famosi titoli 3D. Overkill 2 in arrivo a Marzo: preparatevi ad una nuova avventura!
Dopo l’enorme successo del primo capitolo, la Craneballs Studios LLC è pronta a portate sugli schermi dei nostri Android un nuovo ed interessantissimo titolo: Overkill 2. Uno sparatutto dove uccidere non sarà solo lo scopo del gioco ma sarà una vera e propria lotta visto il numero enorme di nemici da sconfiggere. Rispetto al primo capitolo, in Overkill 2 ci saranno ben 30 armi diverse e 200 compenenti aggiuntivi che potranno essere conquistati ed acquistati. Per creare più hype la software house ha lanciato una piccola iniziativa che permetterà a chi si registrerà sul sito di Overkill 2 di avere da subito una mitragliatrice leggere MP-40.
Battlefield 3 Expansion Pack: End Game, ecco cosa aggiungerà (Video)
Il gameplay di Battlefield 3, che fin ora ha fatto appassionare a questo titolo diversi giocatori per via della frenetica azione che propone al pubblico, da marzo verrà arricchito ancora di più per quanto riguarda l’adrenalina e la guerra senza quartiere durante le partite. Infatti tra un mese verrà lanciata il nuovo Expansion Pack di Battlefield 3 che, chiamato End Game, aggiungerà 4 nuove mappe ben distinte e particolareggiate.
In più grazie a questo pacchetto di espansione i giocatori avranno la possibilità di sfrecciare verso e nelle linee nemiche a bordo delle moto da cross, fattore che introdurrà in Battlefield 3 nuovi elementi di sfida, come agilità e velocità. In più nuovi mezzi aerei, come i nuovi elicotteri leggeri AA, potranno efficacemente combattere gli attacchi provenienti dal cielo del nemico.
Coin questo Expansion Pack potremo assistere ad un grande ritorno agli albori, le modalità classiche di Battlefield Cattura la Bandiera e Superiorità Aerea ritorneranno a far parte di questo titolo. Di sicuro aggiungeranno al gameplay quel tocco di party-games che un po’ mancava a buona parte della community.

Crysis 3: rilasciato il quinto episodio de Le Sette Meraviglie (Video)
La beta di Crysis 3 è già online da qualche giorno e in moltissimi videogiocatori hanno già messo le mani sulla versione dimostrativa per capire quali saranno le feature inserite in questo terzo capitolo della serie.
Gli sviluppatori di casa Crytek decidono quindi di rilasciare il quinto episodio de “Le Sette Meraviglie”, corto intitolato “L’Arma Perfetta” in cui vengono mostrate una serie di azioni in-game particolarmente movimentate. mostrando al contempo l’utilizzo di alcune armi in dotazione davvero devastanti.
Il filmato sottolinea però l’importanza della Nanosuit, la speciale tuta che indossa il protagonista, in grado davvero di donare capacità sovrumane.
Il regista Albert Hughes sta facendo davvero un ottimo lavoro e la capacità con cui ha reso accattivanti gli episodi dei corti è in grado di esaltare le doti di un gioco che già di suo non necessita di presentazioni grazie al suo background.
Crysis 3 vedrà luce nei negozi specializzati durante il giorno 22 Marzo su piattaforme Xbox 360, Playstation 3 e PC. Siamo davvero curiosi di sapere se i giocatori che acquisteranno la versione PC il titolo di Crytek sono già pronti con il proprio hardware o stanno vagliando alcune spese aggiuntive per godere al meglio dell’esperienza di gioco che proporrà Crysis 3.

Defiance: il lancio sarà il 2 aprile
Trion Worlds, famoso per aver sviluppato diverti titoli online che hanno riscontrato un discreto successo, ci annuncia oggi la data ufficiale del lancio del tanto atteso sparatutto Defiance.
Lo sparatutto free world in questione sarà rilasciato il 2 aprile e, secondo quello che ci dicono i produttori, trasmetterà ai giocatori la stessa esperienzia di gioco per qualsiasi piattaforma utilizzeranno. Defiance sarà disponibile per PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 e PC.
“In termini di aspettative e di obiettivi, le caratteristiche transmediali di Defiance fanno di questo gioco un’esperienza di intrattenimento davvero unica nel suo genere, diversa da tutte le altre. Dopo cinque anni di sviluppo , vedere Defiance finalmente operativo è motivo di grande orgoglio sia per il team di Trion, sia per quello di Syfy.”
Queste sono le parole di Nathan Richardsson, exucutive producer di Defiance, che dimostra quanto sia lui che il team siano orgogliosi del lancio di questo titolo, che era ormai in cantiere da lungo tempo.
Come anteprima del titolo è stato anche rilasciato un trailer Live Action ambientato in un arido deserto, che ci mostra l’ambiantazione post-apocalittica di Defiance con una tecnologia futuristica, per quanto riguarda armamentario e mezzi di difesa. Grazie a questo trailer possiamo anche constatare che l’atmosfera tra la popolazione di questo pianete non è per niente pacifica.

Crysis 3 Multiplayer Beta Released Date Confirmed As January 29th By EA (Video)
EA has today confirmed that the new Crysis 3 multiplayer beta game servers will be opening their doors on January 29th 2013 and will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
The Crysis 3 Multiplayer Beta development stage will run from January 29th to February 12th and will include two team-based modes called Crash and Hunter, and two maps to enjoy called Airport and Museum. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.
Cevat Yerli, CEO of Crytek explained : “With Crysis 3 we are delivering the deepest, most robust Crysis multiplayer experience yet,” said ”We have listened closely to our fans and have evolved the multiplayer in Crysis 3 by adding a host of new gameplay features including the unique Hunter mode, deadly new weapons like the Predator bow, deeper loadout and unlock options, enhanced upgrade systems and more social features.”
Playstation 4: appare in rete il pdf allegato al DevKit
La console è appena cominciata e i rumor ovviamente si sprecano in ogni angolo della rete. Dopo aver assistito alla conferenza stampa Nintendo Direct, in rete appaiono nuove specifiche legate a Playstation 4, chiamata anche Orbis.
Pare che sia emerso in rete un documento di 90 pagine tratto dal pdf allegato al devkit di Playstation 4, quindi molto probabilmente ci troviamo di fronte a una serie di dettagli molto vicini a quanto annuncerà Sony.
La celebre multinazionale giapponese non ha rilasciato infatti alcuna comunicazione ufficiale riguardante la roadmap svelata giorni addietro e il probabile abbandono di DualShock e SixAxis.
Il documento in questione riporta i seguenti dettagli:

Ovviamente anche in questo caso non è dato sapere se ci troviamo di fronte effettivamente all’hardware ufficiale della nuova console di Sony. Di conseguenza non resta che attendere nuovi rumor, che sicuramente non tarderanno ad arrivare.

Polish developers Teyon Games have this week announced that their new game Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear will be launching on January 29th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
The new Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear provides an on-rails shooting experience, catapulting players straight into rapid-fire action, and has been updated with a new graphics engine. Watch the trailer after the jump to see it in action.
Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear includes a 4-player cooperative mode, and has 60 achievements and awards to collect on Xbox 360, and more on PS3 consoles. Its developers explain a little about the games story in todays press release:

Dust 514 Beta Opens Its Doors To All And Releases New Trailer (video)
Today the new EVE Online first-person-shooter spin-off Dust 514 has opened its doors for public beta testing, allowing anyone with a PS3 to join up and fight for a cause.
To celebrate the Dust 514 beta opening to all, CCP Games has also released a new cinematic trailer providing a glimpse into the infantry and vehicle warfare of Dust 514, and its effects on the EVE Online game.
CCP Games claims that this is the first time two games from two different platforms and genres have linked together to create one integrated world. So is you own a PS3, PlayStation 3 gamers can now download and play the game in its pre-release form.
“Essentially, the troops of DUST will work for the corporations of EVE in a seamless, one-server world. It’s a marriage between two games, one offering the simple gunplay that console gamers love while the other brings the intricate command and strategy that PC gamers often embrace.”
