Spotify pronto a debuttare in Italia dal palco di Sanremo

 

Come annunciato da HDblog in esclusiva, Spotify è pronto a sbarcare ufficialmente anche in Italia, con lo switch-on deciso per martedì 12 Febbraio. La notizia ha ormai raggiunto tutti i canali e per il debutto è stato scelto l’evento musicale italiano più rappresentativo: il Festival di Sanremo!

Il servizio di streaming musicale on demand è già piuttosto conosciuto qui da noi, visto l’immenso successo raggiunto in poco tempo nei pochi paesi dove disponibile; tuttavia, Sanremo sarà il giusto palcoscenico per arrivare direttamente al grande pubblico, ai milioni di utenti italiani appassionati di musica che da tempo attendono l’arrivo di una simile piattaforma, del tutto legale.

Sanremo e il suo festival saranno parte integrante nel lancio di Spotify, con tutti i brani in gara e le altre canzoni dei nuovi album resi immediatamente disponibili per lo streaming. Una partnership davvero importante per la ‘startup’ svedese, che grazie ad accordi precisi con alcune delle principali etichette musicali (Sony, EMI, Warner Music Group, Universal e diverse indipendenti) renderà il tutto disponibile su smartphone e tablet con sistema Android, iOS, Windows Phone 8, come su Windows, Linux, Mac OS X.

Il sistema operativo mobile di Microsoft è stato l’ultimo a ricevere l’applicazione ufficiale, giunta sullo Store Windows Phone soltanto nella giornata di ieri, giusto qualche giorno prima del debutto in Italia, paese con il più alto share di Windows Phone 8 al mondo. L’applicazione non è ancora presente nello store virtuale italiano, ma lo sarà ben presto.

BlackBerry Z10 vs Samsung Galaxy S3 ed Apple iPhone 5: video comparativa

BlackBerry Z10 è disponibile da pochi giorni e le comparazioni con i top di gamma delle altre piattaforma mobile non si contano. In attesa di una nostra prova diretta vogliamo mostrarvi due filmati che metto a confronto il nuovo device della casa canadese con il Samsung Galaxy S3 e l’Apple iPhone 5, giusto per completare la serie di OS dopo il video confronto con il Nokia Lumia 920.

Quel che appare evidente, aldilà delle considerazioni specifiche, è che lo Z10  riesce a tener testa su diversi fronti, anche se confrontato con due ‘best seller’ che stanno raccogliendo decine di milioni di vendite e possono contare su diversi antenati, dal quale si sono lentamente evoluti. Questo vantaggio BlackBerry non l’ha avuto: con lo Z10 si è reinventato tutto d’accapo, partendo sin da subito con un device convincente e al passo con i tempi.

Samsung Galaxy S4 sarà dotato di un sistema di controllo del touch screen senza tocco fisico!

Tra le novità che il Samsung Galaxy S4 porterà attraverso la presentazione al prossimo Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2013, si parla di una sorta di “Floating Touch”, lo stesso sistema utilizzato da Sony con il recente Xperia Sole in grado di muovere immagini, selezionare collegamenti e navigare sul web senza toccare il display con le dita ma avvicinandole a poca distanza dallo schermo. Samsung però personalizzerà questo sistema in modo più efficace con una serie di opzioni e funzionalità in più che potrebbero portare qualcosa di davvero particolare all’interno del panorama smartphone.

L’indiscrezione proviene dalla rivista DDaily, e il tutto funzionerebbe grazie al nuovo controller Atmel’s maXTouch S integrato sotto del display. Il segnale in ingresso consente un utilizzo misto della superficie dando modo tramite alcune gestures di staccare le dita dal display in alcune parti dell’interfaccia. Le possibilità di utilizzo possono essere davvero molte, mentre sarà interessante vedere quanto consumerà in termini di batteria una soluzione di questo tipo applicata alle funzioni basilari di uno smartphone come rispondere alle chiamate o ad un messaggio di testo.

Twitter simplifies search for Android, iOS and mobile web users

Today, Twitter announced an update for its search features for Android, iOS and mobile web. Furthering the company’s efforts for a more uniform user experience, the new updated adds a search button to the iPhone app, bringing it up to speed with its Android and iPad counterparts. Across the board users will be treated to improved search results for photos, tweets and accounts, along with a preview section for the Discover tab that takes a peek at the latest trends and activity. Wondering how all this magic works? Twitter’s Engineering blog describes the process by which pieces of content are ranked and scored based on factors like “burstiness” to account for recent interest spikes.

As for the Connect tab, it now defaults to Interactions, which displays new followers, mentions and retweets. However, if you’re not looking to keep track of who quoted your recent product placement rant, you can change your settings to Mentions only. Finally, and perhaps our most favorite new addition is a change to how Twitter’s mobile implementations handle links. You can now click a URL directly from your timeline without having to open the related tweet. The mobile site is already sporting the latest updates, but you’ll need to update your iOS and Android (it’s a manual update, thanks to a change in permissions) apps at their respective stores.

LG punta alla ricarica senza fili su tutta la propria linea di smartphone entro la fine dell’anno

 

 

La commercializzazione del Nexus 4 affiancata dal modulo di ricarica Wireless ORB sembra sia piaciuta particolarmente ad LG, tanto che il produttore coreano sembra voglia spingersi ad un’adozione dello standard su tutta la nuova gamma di smartphone 2013. Analizzando anche una ricerca condotta da IHS iSuppli l’idea non sembra poi così sbagliata, la domanda di moduli di ricarica wireless crescerà da 5 milioni di unità dello scorso anno fino a ben 100 milioni entro il 2015.

Per conoscere meglio le abitudini degli utenti sull’utilizzo di uno smartphone, LG ha condotto personalmente negli Stati Uniti uno studio, stabilendo come una delle lamentele più frequenti da parte degli utenti riguardi proprio il consumo eccessivo di batteria e la velocità della stessa nel ricaricarsi completamente, costringendo spesso sempre a portarsi dietro una batteria di ricambio, ed è qui che dovrebbe intervenire la ricarica wireless.

Il Wireless Power Consortium fa sapere che presto questo tipo di tecnologia non sarà integrata soltanto in piccole basette, ma la troveremo anche in mobili, servizi, elettrodomestici ed ovviamente automobili come abbiamo visto in alcuni articoli precedenti (Toyota Avalon è la prima auto compatibile con lo standard di ricarica Wireless Qi) (Mensola fai da te per la ricarica wireless dei Nokia Lumia WP8).

Per LG sembra quindi il momento buono per allargare la ricarica wireless a tutta la propria gamma di dispositivi, non soltanto quelli di fascia alta ma anche per quelli più economici

Samsung Galaxy S4 Render Leaked (Rumor)

We have already seen one render of the new Samsung Galaxy S4, and now we have another new one, although this one looks different than the previous one and we have no idea if this is actually of the Samsung Galaxy S4 or if it has been faked.

The photo below shows all the rumored specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S4 that we have been hearing about over the last few weeks, and the photo shows the handset with a metal casing and a pair of front facing speakers.

The specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S4 listed in the render include Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, plus a 5 inch full HD super AMOLED+ display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

This version also mentions a different processor that we had previously heard about with a 2GHz Exynos 5450 processor and a Mali T658 GPU plus 2GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera.

We have no idea if this is actually from Samsung or just a mock up of what someone thinks the Samsung Galaxy S4 will look like, what do you guys think.

Overkill 2 in arrivo a Marzo: preparatevi ad una nuova avventura!

Rispetto al primo capitolo, in Overkill 2 ci saranno ben 30 armi diverse e 200 compenenti aggiuntivi che potranno essere conquistati ed acquistati.  Per creare più hype la software house ha lanciato una piccola iniziativa che permetterà a chi si registrerà sul sito di Overkill 2 di avere da subito una mitragliatrice leggere MP-40.

Wine coming to Android, will run Windows apps on Google’s mobile OS

Android apps on Windows? Been there, done that. Try running Windows programs on Android for size. Alexandre Julliard, the developer behind the Wine compatibility layer, gave an update about an ARM-friendly flavor of the software and showed off a version that runs on Android at the 2013 Free and Open source Software Developers’ European Meeting. According to Phoronix, the demo of a Windows app running on Android was “horrendously slow,” but Julliard chalks that up to the fact that the sample was chugging along on an Android emulator. Wine for Mountain View’s OS is said to be an active work-in-progress, so there’s no word on when it might find its way into the wild just yet.

Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Date Between 15th And 22nd Of April

We have been hearing a number of rumors about Samsung’s new Galaxy S4 over the last few weeks, and now we have received some information on a possible launch date for the device from one of our sources.

According to the information we have received Samsung will be launching their Galaxy S4 smartphone some time between the 15th of April and the 22nd of April, the details have come from a source close to a major UK retailer.

This source has been correct with release information in the past, as they gave us details on the exact launch date of Apple’s iPad Mini, and their iPhone 5, although with the Samsung Galaxy S4 we only have a rough launch date at the moment, the handset will launch some time between the 15th and 22nd of April.

We were also told that Samsung will not reveal the new Galaxy S4 smartphone at this years Mobile World Congress, instead it will be unveiled at a separate Samsung unpacked event in March, this is a rumor we have been hearing over the last few week.

So far we know a number of rumored specifications on the new Samsung Galaxy S4, which include a 4.99 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to be Samsung’s first device to use their new 8 core Exynos Octa 5 processor and it will feature a clock speed of 1.8GHz, plus the device will come with  2GB of RAM and a choice of either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of built in storage.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Range Will Feature A 2560 x 1600 Resolution Tablet

Earlier this month it was rumoured that Samsung was preparing to launch three new tablets to its Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 range. Now snippets of code have been found that indicate the new range of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablets could include a tablet fitted with a 2560 x 1600 resolution screen.

Other information about that tablets has also been discovered  in the UAProf revealing that a 7 inch tablet reference GT-P3200 will be arriving with a resolution of  1024  x 600. Which will be an affordably priced tablet to compete with lower end tablets already in the market

The code also reveals that a GT-P3200 8 inch model with the resolution of 1280 x 800 will also be released, and a GT-P8200 which is also known as Galaxy Tab 3 Plus is a 10 inch model with the same resolution as that of Nexus 10 which is 2500 x 1600.

Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.

Samsung Galaxy S4 To Feature New Display Technology

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to be unveiled at a Samsung Unpacked event in March, and will apparently go on sale worldwide in April, yesterday we saw a leaked photo of the Samsung Galaxy S4, and today we have some possible new information about Samsung’s flagship Android smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to feature a 4.99 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it was previously thought that the display would come with around 440 pixels per inch (ppi), but according to a recent report, Samsung will be introducing some new display technology with a higher ppi in the Galaxy S4.

Samsung is rumored to have developers a new pixel layout for its new smaller AMOLED panels, this has been done to increase their resolution, and the Galaxy S4 is expected to come with a higher pixel per inch layout than the previously rumored 440ppi.

The sources said Samsung is developing hexagon- and diamond-shaped pixel layouts for the panels in order to increase resolutions above 440ppi, which is difficult to achieve using the current side-by-side layout.

As yet we do not know what the exact pixels per inch will be on the Samsung Galaxy S4, how much higher it will be than the 440ppi remains to be seen, it will be interesting to see what this new display is like when it is introduced, we wonder if Samsung will show it off at MWC 2013 next month.

Other rumored specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S4 include their new 8 core Exynos Octa 5 processor which is rumored to be clocked at 1.8GHz, plus 2GB of RAM and a Mali-T658 GPU.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is also rumored to feature a 2 megapixel front facing camera for video chat and a rear facing 13 megapixel camera for photos and video, plus the device will come with some sort of wireless charging.

As soon as we get some more information on the new Samsung Galaxy S4 we will let you guys know, it certainly sounds like a very interesting handset from the rumored specifications and we suspect this will be Samsung’s most popular smartphone to date.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z In Action (Video)

 

Sony recently announced their new Sony Xperia Tablet Z, yesterday we got so see a look at the tablets launcher in action, and now we have an actual video of the device in action from the guys over at DigInfo TV.

As a reminder the Sony Xperia Tablet Z comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and features a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, there is also a quad core 1.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM.

Other specifications on the Sony Xperia Tablet Z include an 8.1 megapixel rear facing camera which features Sony’s Exmor R sensor, plus 32GB of built in storage, NFC, LTE, a microSD card slot and the device is also waterproof and dustproof.

Altius: questo il nome in codice del nuovo S4 con batteria da 2600mAh e arrivo a metà Aprile!

Ancora Galaxy S4 protagonista di rumor e informazioni “verificate”. Secondo le ultime notizie il nuovo top gamma della casa Coreana avrà nome in codice Altius (J) cambiando quindi rispetto al Project J di cui avevamo parlato alcune settimane fa. Sebbene a livello hardware le caratteristiche mostrate nell’immagine non siano ancora confermate o certe e si parla sempre di Exynos Octa, sembra che Galaxy S4 avrà ancora la batteria removibile con una capacità di 2600mAh, dunque maggiore dell’attuale S3 ma inferiore al Note 2.

Considerando il display Full HD e la nuova piattaforma hardware, i 2600mAh non devono sorprendere e anzi, potrebbero essere appena sufficienti e offrire un’autonomia simile all’attuale i9300.

Oltre a questo è stata riconfermata la presenza della ricarica Wireless che sarà venduta separatamente alcune settimane dopo il lancio ma che comunque vedrà il supporto integrato all’interno del nuovo flagship Samsung. Proprio il lancio è oggetto i nuove speculazioni che vedrebbero il debutto in anticipo rispetto alle previsioni. Si parla di Settimana 16, ovvero di metà Aprile per la commercializzazione iniziale del prodotto (sia in Nero che in Bianco) che potrebbe essere presentato tra la fine di Marzo e inizio Aprile.

In questo caso non possiamo avere “certezze” e se ci basiamo sulle precedenti presentazioni Samsung, la data sembra troppo vicina rispetto ad un Maggio/Giugno come avvenuto con S1, S2 e S3. La concorrenza è però decisamente molto agguerrita e non è da escludere che un’anticipo sui tempi di lancio possa essere una scelta tattica intelligente.

MSI Enjoy 71 Android 4.0 Dual Core Tablet Announced

MSI has introduced a new Android tablet to their range in the form of the MSI Enjoy 71, which is equipped with a 7 inch display sporting a resolution of 1024 x 600.

The new MSI Enjoy 71 Android Tablet is powered by a 1.5 GHz Amlogic AM8726 dual core processor, supported by 1GB of RAM and comes supplied running Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system.

Other features of the dual core MSI Enjoy 71 Android tablet include,  a 3200mAh battery, 8GB of internal storage, a 2 megapixel rear camera and a front-facing VGA camera, together with mini HDMI port, microSD card slot.

The MSI Enjoy 71 Android tablet is now available in Taiwan for around $172, but unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet by MSI.

LG Optimus G 4G LTE Being Rolled Out To 50 Markets This Month

LG launched their Optimus G smartphone in the US, Canada, Korea and Japan at the end of last year, and now LG has announced the global roll out of the Optimus G 4G LTE to more than 50 markets around the world.
“As 4G LTE availability expands on a global scale, we will leverage our strong LTE technology and expertise to offer consumers the best 4G experience through our devices,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the latest Jelly Bean OS and improved software, Optimus G will make a strong case for the title of ultimate premium 4G LTE smartphone.”

The LG Optimus G features a quad core 1.5GHz Krait Snapdragon S4 processor, there is also 2GB of RAM and the handset comes with 4G LTE, plus a 4.7 inch multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels.

Other specifications on the LG Optimus G include an 8 megapixel rear camera for photos and video, plus a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat, plus a 2,100 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, USB 2.0, A-GPS, MHL and DLNA and NFC.

The LG G Optimus G will be available in Singapore at the end of January and then LG will continue rolling the device out to further markets, they did not give any specific details on when it would arrive in specific countries.

Pantech Vega No.6 With Full HD Display Coming Next Month

Back in December we heard a rumor about a new HD smartphone from Pantech, the Pantech IM-A860 and now it appears that the device will be called the Pantech Vega No.6 and it is expected to launch in South Korea next month.

What we didn’t know back in December was what size display the Pantech Vega No. 6 would feature, and it looks like the device will come with a 5.9 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Other rumored specifications on the handset include a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, clocked at 1.5GHz, plus 2GB of RAM and it will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

There are no details as yet on whether the Pantech Vega No. 6 is headed to the US and Europe, as soon as we get some more information and some pictures of the device we will let you guys know.

LG Optimus G Pro confermato ufficialemente: in arrivo entro il Q1 2013!

Ne avevamo parlato alcuni giorni fa e adesso arrivano le prime conferme direttamente dal produttore Coreano. LG Optimus G Pro non solo è reale ma arriverà ufficialmente entro il Q1 2013 e, con molta probabilità, sarà presentato al MWC 2013 insieme all’Optimus G già uscito in alcuni mercati non Europei. Una scelta particolare quella di lanciare due prodotti importanti nello stesso momento la cui versione Pro è una evoluzione del modello attuale. LG Optimus G Pro avrà infatti il medesimo hardware di Optimus G con processore Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB di RAm e connettività completa,  ma un display Full HD che viene nuovamente indicato in 5.5 pollici di diagonale, una batteria più potente da 3000mAh e un clock da 1.7GHz. Non resta che sperare in prezzi interessanti con un Optimus G magari intorno alle 450€ e Optimus G Pro a 599€…

Temple Run 2 Headed To Android 24th January (Video)

The developers behind the popular Temple Run game recently launched Temple Run 2 for Apple’s iOS platform, the game is already at the top of the App store charts, and now it looks like we have a possible date on when it will be available on Google’s Android platform.

According to the guys over at Android Community, who have spoken to the developers of Temple Run 2, the game is expected to be available from the Google Play store on the 24th of January.

Temple Run 21 is available from free on Apple’s App store and the app will also be available for free on the Google Play store when it launches later this week, have a look at the trailer below.
