I love when I run across landscape photography that just draws you in and almost makes you feel like you’re there at the location. Staring at the images as if you were actually looking at the sunset or the forest. Either way, Alonso Díaz‘s work does that for me. The colors, locations, exposures bring it all together in a perfect, stunning way.
“Alonso Díaz has been into photography for six years. It began as hobby and it still is, though he has done some commissioned work. Although he mostly shoots landscapes, Alonso also enjoys trying other stuff such as light painting, urban photography and so on. Samsung NX300 3D Mirrorless Camera Launching In March For $750
Samsung has today unveiled a new addition to its NX Series range of cameras, with the unveiling of their new Samsung NX300 mirrorless camera, which will be launching in March for $750.
The new Samsung NX300 camera is equipped with a 20.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, and has been designed to provide users with the ability to capture 3D images and footage.
To capture images the Samsung NX300 uses a hybrid autofocus system that combines phase and contrast detection, offering users 105 points of phase AF detection and 247 points of contrast detection, says Samsung.
“The compact NX300 makes it simple for anyone to achieve pro-like and impressive pictures easily with minimal technical knowledge or time spent adjusting parameters. Using the camera’s Smart Mode, users can choose from 14 different settings, such as Creative Shot, Landscape, Light Trace or Action Freeze which will automatically adjust parameters such as aperture and shutter speed in order to obtain the best shot possible for the desired situation. The NX300 also includes i-Depth, an easy and simple way to adjust the depth of an image using the NX Series’ unique i-Function system, which enables users to m dify camera parameters using the lens itself, adjusting the image without ever having to move off target.”
On the rear of the camera Samsung has fitted a 3.31-inch AMOLED display, and other features include the ability to capture photographic bursts of 8.6 shots each second, with an ISO range with a maximum of 25600,with video support for 1080p recording at 60 frames per second.

Samsung Galaxy Camera Gets Android 4.1.2 Update
Samsung has released a new software update for their Galaxy Camera, in the form of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the Galaxy camera comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
The Android 4.1.2 software update for the Samsung Galaxy camera brings some new features to the device, and the update is available to download through Samsung’s Kies software updating tool.
The Samsung Galaxy Camera is powered a a quad core 1.4GHZ processor and comes with a 16 megapixel sensor and a 4.8 inch touchscreen display, plus a pop up Xenon Flash and 21x optical zoom.
Some of the new features include an improved Gallery App for the Samsung Galaxy Camera, you can update you device by connecting it to your computer and using the Samsung Kies update tool.

Yahoo Flickr iPhone App Updated With 16 Filters And More
Yahoo has released a new update for its Flickr iPhone application this this week, which brigs with it a number of Instagram inspired features, such as new filters to tweak your photographs.
In total the new Yahoo Flickr iOS app has received 16 new filters together with support for Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and email sharing, as well as group sharing features, which up until today were only available via the Flickr website.
As well as new filters and tweaks YTahoo has also redesigned the Profiles section within the app with with Sets, Groups, Favourites, Photos Of and Contacts options added to the photostream pane for easy access.

The newly updated and redesigned Yahoo Flickr iOS app is now available to download from the Apple iTunes App Store for free.

Canon’s New 200-400mm f/4L IS 1.4x TC Lens Around the Corner?
Canon’s highly anticipated dream lens, the 200-400mm f/4 with a built-in 1.4x teleconverter that was seen at the Olympics has been used “in the wild.” CanonRumors reports that one of its readers, Ben, got to use the likely $11,000 lens in South Africa for a bit after speaking with a product manager…
Ben’s first impressions point to a perhaps-difficult-to-use switch to flip the teleconverter into place, but that it gets easier if you have the lens on a monopod (almost a necessity anyway, wouldn’t you say?). Autofocus is supposed to be extremely quick, too.
Does this mean we could see this lens soon? Perhaps. It was also reportedly a production model — updated since the Olympics. If we do see it early next year, no doubt it’ll be in limited quantities.

Not having inherited any photographic genes in my DNA, I would say that photography came into my life by accident. It resulted from my need to find a replacement for my previous ‘hobby’ which used to be Archery.
I try to enjoy and draw from it all the pleasure there is in capturing what the moment has to offer. That’s probably why I like to capture images of places or times of day that carry us into parallel universes transmitting a sense of calm and tranquility as opposed to our ‘crazy’ everyday life. Architectural photography is something I can never seem to get down. I love shooting people much more than buildings, but when it is executed correctly I love it, even though it is not my favorite thing to shoot. I could look at good architectural photography all day. What’s interesting is how architectural photographers use light to sculpt, add contrast, and bring out details in their work. Schede di memoria SD Wi-Fi anche da Transcend
Anche Transcend è entrata nel settore delle schede di memoria SD con integrate funzioni di connettività Wi-Fi, presentando una linea che al momento comprende due soli modelli che si differenziano per la capacità di memoria: 16 e 32 GB. Si tratta in entrambi i casi di schede di memoria SDHC in Classe 10, che quindi garantiscono una velocità di trasferimento dati di 10 MB/sec.
Le nuove schede Transcend prevedono due modalità di funzionamento. La prima si chiama Direct Share (condivisione diretta) e serve a definire una connessione peer-to-peer tra la scheda e un massimo di tre dispositivi Wi-Fi. La modalità Internet prevede invece una connessione della scheda a Internet attraverso un router wireless che si trovi nelle vicinanze o la connessione cellulare di uno smartphone o tablet. In entrambe le configurazioni si usa l’app (iOS o Android) gratuita Wi-Fi SD per visualizzare e organizzare gli scatti, ma anche per condividerle attraverso Internet.
Le schede wireless di Transcend sono compatibili con molte fotocamere ma non con tutte. Al momento il sito del produttore elenca una settantina tra reflex, mirrorless e compatte che possono usarle senza problemi. Tra le reflex si segnalano cinque modelli Canon EOS (5D Mark III, 650D, 600D, 550D e 60D), due Nikon (D3200 e D800), uno Sony (A77), uno Olympus (E-5) e due Pentax (K-r, K-01).

Canon EF 24-70mm IS f4 e 35mm IS f2 pronti al via
Canon ha presentato due nuovi obiettivi EF destinati alle reflex digitali in formato full frame, utilizzabili anche ovviamente con le reflex APS-C. Si tratta del Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM e del Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM.
L’arrivo di un nuovo zoom EF 24-70mm IS era atteso, numerose voci davano per certo il debutto della versione con stabilizzazione ottica di un obiettivo molto diffuso tra chi utilizza fotocamere a pieno formato (montato su una reflex APS-C si trasformerebbe in un meno versatile 38-112mm). A trarre vantaggio da questo obiettivo sono in particolare i possessori di Canon EOS 5D Mark II e II ed EOS 6D, dato che la stabilizzazione ne agevola l’uso nelle riprese video.
Tra le caratteristiche principali del nuovo Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM si segnala l’apertura costante a f/4 e l’utilizzo di due lenti a bassa dispersione UD che affiancano due elementi asferici. Il diaframma è a nove lamelle, l’adozione del motore ultrasonico USM garantisce secondo Canon una messa a fuoco molto veloce.
L’altro obiettivo presentato – il Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM – è invece una mezza sorpresa, perché tutti si aspettavano la versione stabilizzata del “normale” 50mm. Questo nuovo 35mm promette di essere un po’ più versatile perché svolge il ruolo di grandangolare per le fotocamere full frame e di “normale” per le reflex con sensore APS-C. Il nuovo EF 35mm è la prima ottica fissa Canon a dotarsi di stabilizzazione ottica, segno che la casa giapponese pensa anche al suo possibile utilizzo nelle riprese video. L’obiettivo è compatto e monta, oltre al motore AF ultrasonico, un elemento asferico posto alla fine della catena ottica per contenere le aberrazioni.
Parallelamente, Canon ha presentato anche una nuova gamma di copriobiettivi che si sbloccano premendo su un elemento centrale, come già accade nei modelli di altre marche. Saranno in vendita a partire da gennaio, insieme agli obiettivi e separatamente.
