Apple Working On 16:9 Widescreen iPad (Rumor)

Apple’s iPhone 5 is the first of Apple’s iOS devices to come with a 16:9 aspect ratio, what this means is that you can watch movies on the iPhone 5 without the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.
Now according to a recent rumor, Apple is working on a new iPad display that will come with a 16:9 aspect ratio, which means you would be able to view movies and TV shows on an iPad without the black bars.
Apple’s current iPad offerings, the iPad 2 and new iPad three have a 4:3 aspect ratio, which means you get the black bars at the top and bottom of the display when you watch a movie.
We have been hearing rumors that Apple will launch a smaller iPad Mini later this year, it could be possible that this new smaller iPad, which is rumored to feature a 7 inch display could come with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Of course we may have to wait until the iPad 4 which will probably launch around March of next year to see an iPad with a 16:9 aspect ratio display, at the moment it is just a rumor.
