Microsoft just announced their new OS, Windows Phone 8, which we hear would come with Nokia Maps built into the OS, and now they have announced that Nokia’s turn by turn navigation will also be available in all Windows Phone 8 devices.
That means that you wont have to buy a Nokia device to use Nokia Drive, it will be available in all Windows Phone 8 handsets from all manufacturers, and it will offer turn by turn navigation in over 110 countries around the world.
Nokia Drive is one of the major apps that on Nokia’s location platform. Today, we are also making this platform and its unrivalled quality of data and richness of features available on Windows Phone 8 for all partners. This means that Nokia’s Location platform will be central to the Windows Phone 8 experience, with the intention of developing smartphones that bring advanced location experiences. Windows Phone 8 partners and developers will be able to use our location assets to build location-based apps and experiences of superior quality.

Microsoft recently announced the latest version of Windows Phone, which will only be available on new handsets, Windows Phone 8, So where does that leave existing Windows Phone devices?
Microsoft also announced Windows Phone 7.8, this will be available for some of the existing Windows Phone devices, and it will bring some of Windows Phone 8 features to these handsets.
Windows Phone 7.8 will bring the look and feel to existing Windows Phone devices, with a similar user interface to Windows Phone 8, things that wont be included will be support for the new hardware that Windows Phone 8 devices will come with.

Drobo has today announced the launch of a their new Drobo 5D and Mini: SSD storage solutions, which come equipped with both Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 connections for super fast data transfer.
The new drives are based on Drobo’s BeyondRAID technology, which has been designed to allow you to mix and match your hard drives using different capacities and spin speeds. The Drobo drives will then automatically select the appropriate RAID level 1, 5, 6 to balance the capacity.
The smaller 4-bay Drobo Mini measures 18.7cm wide by 18cm deep by 4.5cm high, and weighs in at about 1,5kg with hard drives installed, on the rear its equipped with 2 x Thunderbolt ports and 1 x USB 3.0 port.

Microsoft has officially announced the latest version of their mobile OS, Windows Phone 8 Apollo which will be available later this year, although it looks like it will only be available with new Windows Phone devices and not existing Windows Phone smartphones.
Windows Phone 8 adds support for multi-core processors, and displays with a resolution up to WXGA, which is 1280 x 768 pixels, there will also be support for external storage on SD cards.
There is also support for NFC in Windows Phone 8, and Microsoft has announced their own digital wallet which will allow for payments via NFC and will also support loyalty cards.
Another new features in Windows Phone 8 Apollo is that Nokia Maps will now be built into the OS, which means it will be available on all Windows Phone 8 devices, and it will also come with offline maps support.
Microsoft has also said that Windows Phone 8 will offer enterprise ready security and support, Microsoft have yet to give an exact launch date for Windows Phone 8, they did however say that it will be available this fall.
We can expect a new range of Windows Phone 8 devices to launch at the same time as the OS, and are looking forward to seeing what Nokia have planned, we suspect they will be launching some interesting devices, considering their close partnership with Microsoft, you can find out more details on Windows Phone 8 over at Microsoft.
It looks like some of Samsung’s earlier Galaxy Tab tablets will shortly be getting update to the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will all be getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update next month.
According to the guys over at Sammobile the updates will start rolling out next month, and will be completed for all of the Galaxy Tab tablets some time in August.
The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update will be available for both the WiFi and WiFi + 3G versions of the Galaxy Tab range, including the Galaxy Tab 7.0, you can see the full list below.

During CES back in January, iLuv showed off a new portable Bluetooth speaker stand for tablets and smartphones called the Mo’Beats. At the time the Bluetooth speaker stand was unveiled, the product was not shipping. The company has now announced that it is shipping the Mo’Beats stand.
