iRig Mix iOS DJ And Audio Mixer Now Available (video)

IK Multimedia has started shipping its new iRig Mix, the first mixer designed specifically for iOS devices, such as Apple’s iPad, iPhone and iPod. iRig Mix has been designed to be an ultra compact DJ and audio mixer, which works with the DJ Rig, AmpliTube, VocaLive, GrooveMaker and other iOS DJ applications.

The new IK Multimedia iRig Mix is equipped with full EQ adjustment, crossfader, headphone cue and a mic input, and allows you to record your creations if needed and share them with friends, publish or distribute. Enabling you to either have dual iOS devices connected or simply one, as required. IK Multimedia explains:

MK802 Mini Android 4.0 PC Arrives For $74

We have featured a number of mini computers here on Geeky Gadgets, including the Raspberry Pi which is just $35 and the FXI Cotton Candy priced at a lofty $200.

Now a new contender has arrived in the form of the $74 MK802 Android mini PC. Which is equipped with a single-core 1.5GHz AllWinner A10 processor, supported by 512MB of memory.

The MK802 is also equipped with 2 x USB ports, one full-sized and one micro, and runs Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system. As well as being equipped with a HDMI port for connecting to your monitor of preference.

I’m Watch New Shipping Dates Announced

 

I’m Spa the Italian smartwatch manufacturer of the delayed I’m Watch. Has this week announced new shipping dates for the launched of its highly anticipated Android 1.6 smart watch, which was expected to by shipping on April 15th.

An initial batch of 300 I’m Watches will be shipping out on June 15th for initial testing and feedback. With other further outstanding orders being fulfilled by July 15th and all orders being dispatched by September 15th.

However if you have already ordered a I’m Watch but would like to cancel your order you have until July 15th to do so. But I’m Spa is now offering a 15 percent discount for those customers who would rather wait a little longer. I’m Spa explains:

“But we are now able to define them as follows, taking into account that we intend to conduct a last serious testing program with our customers:

1) By June 15th we will provide i’m Watch to a group of 300 customers, who will cooperate with us for a final and ultimate check, to be completed by July 15th. We will ask them to give regular feedback on their experience, which will be reported in a public blog on the website http://www.imwatch.it in order to allow you to follow its evolution as well.

Symantec: «Solo 14mila dollari di ricavi per gli autori della botnet di Mac infetti»

Symantec elabora un’analisi del modello di business e delle strategie del network pirata che ha lanciato Flashback. Scarsi i ricavi: la rete di Mac infettati ha generato ricavi per circa 14mila dollari che, per giunta, non potranno essere incassati. Ma secondo la società di sicurezza l’insuccesso non fermerà il malware.

Grazie al meccanismo pay-per-click installato solo su una piccola parte di tutti i Mac infetti, gli autori della botnet hanno generato ricavi per 14.000 dollari, una somma davvero molto modesta a fronte degli sforzi e dei richie e che, per giunta, non potrà mai essere riscossa.  Ecco l’esito di una indagine svolta a Symantec che ha analizzato la metodologia di attacco e i meccanismi impiegati dai pirati informatici che nel mese di aprile hanno preso di mira il mondo della Mela con il malware OSX.Flashback, costruito su misura per sfruttare una falla nel codice Java di Apple e installarsi nei sistemi degli utenti.

Bloomberg, altra conferma sull’iPhone da 4 pollici

Dopo il Wall Street Journal e Reuters, anche Bloomberg conferma l’arrivo di un nuovo iPhone con design rivisto e schermo più grande. Il progetto è iniziato ancora prima del lancio di iPhone 4S e Steve Jobs ha avuto un ruolo chiave nel suo sviluppo, fino al momento della scomparsa.

L’iPhone di prossima generazione arriverà entro il mese di ottobre, offrirà un design completamente rivisto e uno schermo più grande. Anche l’autorevole Bloomberg torna a parlare dello smartphone della Mela confermando le anticipazioni pubblicate in precedenza da The Wall Street Journal e Reuters, aggiungendo però un dettaglio molto interessante: al progetto dello smartphone in arrivo ha partecipato attivamente anche Steve Jobs fino al momento della scomparsa.

ASUS amplia la serie di schede video a chip Nvidia con la nuova GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II TOP, prodotto destinato ai gamers e agli overclockers più esigenti. Windows Phone 8: arriva una nuova conferma dell’arrivo entro il 2012

Windows Phone 8 è atteso per fine anno ma finora, sebbene gli indizi siano stati molti, non è ancora arrivata un conferma ufficiale. La controparte desktop e tablet, Windows 8, è già stata ampiamente discussa ma l’OS per gli smartphone Microsoft del futuro non è ancora stato svelato.

Mentre si aspetta Giugno per il Windows Phone Developer Summit, da Techit.co.il, un distributore europeo di Nokia, arrivano notizie che andrebbero a confermare l’arrivo di WP 8 prima della fine del 2012. Il distributore si riferisce alla gamma Lumia che si arricchirà di nuovi modelli con Windows Phone 8 negli ultimi mesi del 2012.

Nulla di nuovo sulle caratteristiche dell’OS che, per quanto ne sappiamo finora, dovrebbe integrare il supporto per i processori multi-core, supporto per le microSD e display a risoluzione maggiore (almeno HD).

Nuovi MacBook Pro: l’adozione del display Retina potrebbe far lievitare il prezzo

Nelle ultime settimane i rumor sulla possibile adozione di display Retina per la nuova generazione di MacBook Pro si sono fatti sempre più insistenti e, con tutta probabilità, quella che per ora è soltanto un’ipotesi potrebbe ben presto (al WWDC 2012?) diventare realtà.

Secondo quanto riporta CNET, i pannelli che andranno a comporre il display Retina dei nuovi MacBook Pro sono già pronti nella catena di produzione di Apple ed il loro costo, sia di produzione che di assemblaggio, potrebbe causare un aumento di prezzo dei prodotti finali fino a 100 $ in più rispetto ai MacBook Pro non Retina.

Facebook lancia un’app separata per gestire le pagine fan

Una delle lamentele più frequenti nel mondo delle app riguarda Facebook. Secondo alcuni, il servizio offerto non è garantito anche a livello mobile. Effettivamente, l’esperienza desktop di questo social network è decisamente più coinvolgente. Per questo e per altri motivi, sono state introdotte nuove app dedicate ai singoli servizi di Facebook.

Facebook Messenger ha rappresentato la prima avvisaglia dell’intolleranza degli utenti circa la messaggistica del network. E’ stato rilasciato perché aveva senso concentrarsi completamente su quel tipo di prodotto. Secondo 9to5Mac, Facebook potrebbe lanciare molto presto applicazioni dedicate simili a Messenger, ad esempio per coloro che vogliono gestire al meglio una pagina fan.

iHome Audio unveils iP76 LED Tower Stereo Speaker

iHome makes hoards of different devices and docking stations for the iPhone and other Apple products. The company has unveiled its latest offering called the iP76. This product is an LED color changing tower stereo speaker that packs in Bluetooth for connecting to the iPhone and the iPod.

The device has a docking station on top the charge your iPhone or other iPod while it plays music. The tower speaker has 16 multicolor LED light clusters to create cool light effects and has for high-performance speakers inside. The changing colors look a lot like an old-fashioned jukebox to me.

The device will be available in July retailers nationwide for $199.90. The speaker also has the ability to send video from the device out of the TV thanks to integrated component video outputs.

Genius WideCam F100 Fitted With Ultra Wide 120 Degree Lens Launches

Genius has this week launched a new ultra wide angel lens web camera, which is equipped with a 120 degree lens. The new WideCam F100 is capable of capturing full high definition video recordings at 1080p and can take 12 megapixel photographs.

Using the accompanying software Arcsoft Webcam Companion 4, the Genius WideCam F100 webcam can then send these directly to your YouTube, Flickr, and Twitter account.

Apple Release OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Beta To Developers

Apple has released a new build of its latest Mountain Lion operating system to developers this week. The latest updated version of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion Developer Preview 3 (12A206J) is now available to download and put through its paces from the Mac App Store, for developers to enjoy.

However Apple has announced that the new operating system build is not compatible with MacBook Pro machines that were manufactured and released in the middle of 2007. However Apple is currently working on a fix to correct this.

The new Mountain Lion OS X is expected to be officially launched this summer, with more details about the OS being revealed at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference starting on June 11th. As more information becomes available we will keep you updated.

Motorola MOTOSMART MIX XT550 Android Handset Announced For China

Motorola has announced the launch of a new Android smartphone for China, the Motorola MOTOSMART MIX XT550, which is designed for music lovers and features a 4 inch WVGA touchscreen display.

The Motorola MOTOSMART MIX XT550 comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and the device features two camera, up front there is a VGA camera for video chat, on the back there is a 3 megapixel camera for photos and video.

Other specifications on the Motorola MOTOSMART MIX XT550 include a 1,735 mAH battery, WiFi and 3G, it also comes with Dolby Mobile sound and it will launch in China later this month.
