Opera Mini 7 Browser Update Rolled Out With Smart Page Feature (video)

Opera has today rolled out a new release of its Opera Mini 7 Browser, which brings with it a number of great new features to users, including a new “Smart Page” feature. As well as Opera data compression technology that allows users with lower data tariffs to enjoy longer surfing.
The new “Smart Page” feature within the Opera Mini 7 Browser allows sets to see aggregates updates from their favourite social networks and news sources all in one place. Opera CEO Lars Boilesen explained:
“With Smart Page, you just open the browser, and the content is right beside your Speed Dial shortcuts in the start screen for you to skim through — super practical, super time-saving and super smart.”
As well as being compatible with smartphones, the Opera Mini 7 Browser is also compatible with Java-compatible (J2ME), S60 and BlackBerry feature phones. More information about Opera Mini 7 can be found over on the Opera website.

Archos Child Pad 7 Inch Tablet Goes On Sale

Some of our reader will remember the Archos Child Pad tablet that was announced back in March, the tablet never actually ended going on sale, and now Archos has announced that the device is now available.
The Archos Child Pad is designed for kids and it comes with a 7 inch touchscreen display, plus Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, it is powered by a 1GHz processor and also comes with 1GB of RAM.
Other features on the Archos Child Pad tablet include 4GB of built in storage, and WiFi also comes pre-loaded with lots of children friendly apps and content, including some Alvin and the Chipmunks content.
The Archos Child Pad 7 inch Android tablet is available for $129.99 from Archos, and it also come with a range of built in parental controls.

Hitman Absolution: Attack of the Saints Trailer (video)

IO Interactive, a Square Enix studio has released a new trailer called “Attack of the Saints” to promote their Hitman Absolution game. Hitman Absolution is expected to launch on November 20th 2012.
The new Hitman Absolution game is the 5th game in the Hitman series, and will be equipped with IO Interactive’s proprietary Glacier 2 game engine, to provide enhanced graphics and gameplay.
Providing a different gameplay to previous games in the series with a greater focus on action and gunplay, including online modes to play as well, says IO Interactive.
“A run-down motel room allows Agent 47 the time to treat his wounds. Meanwhile, his former employer, the ICA, send a deadly specialized wetworks team after him: “The Saints.” The ICA wants 47 dead, but that’s easier said than done…”
Within Hitman Absolution, Agent 47 will also be provided with a new “instinct mode” that will allow him to try and predict enemy patrol routes, enabling him to carry out his missions with more stealth and effect.

Linux Mint MintBox Mini PC Announced

The developers of Linux Mint and Compulab has this week announced they are terming up to create a new fanless mini computer called the MintBox. Which will be running the popular Linux Mint 13 “Maya” operating system, that is well known for its excellent stability, security, and ease of use.
The Linux Mint is currently the fastest-growing Linux distribution, and the MintBox Mini PC will basically be a Compulab fit-PC3 which measures just .3″ x 6.3″ x 1″ and is equipped with a Radeon HD graphics and a low powered AMD processor.
There will be two models in the range based on AMD G-Series T40N and T56N. The new MintBox mini PC is expected to arrive within the next couple of weeks and will be available from the Linux Mint’s website. No pricing information has been released as yet?

Remastered Doom 3 BFG Bundle Unveiled (video)

Doom fans might be pleased to know that a remastered Doom 3 BFG Edition has been announced by id Software, that brings with it DOOM, DOOM 2, DOOM 3, and DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil, together with the ‘Lost Mission’.
Within the new Doom 3 BFG Edition, Doom 3 has been remastered for PS3 and Xbox 360, providing gamers with 3D support for an even more terrifying FPS experience. John Carmack, Technical Director at id Software explains:
“Doom 3 was enthusiastically embraced by gamers worldwide at its release,”-”Today, the full experience has been enhanced and extended to be better than ever, and is delivered across all the platforms with a silky smooth frame rate and highly responsive controls. New support for 3D TVs, monitors, and head mounted displays also allows players to experience the game with more depth than ever before. We think shooter fans everywhere will love it.”
Other features in the Doom 3 BFG Edition include 5.1 surround sound, new achievements for on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 trophies, in-game enhanced rendering and lighting, and a new check point save system. The new Doom 3 BFG Edition will be arriving in the fall, price has now been released as yet.

Canadian Samsung Galaxy S III Features 2GB Of RAM, Lands June 20th

We had previously heard that the Samsung Galaxy S III would go on sale in Canada on the 20th of June, this date has now been confirmed and the handset will be available with the major Canadian mobile carriers.
The Canadian Samsung Galaxy S III will feature slightly different specifications that the international version, the quad core processor has been replaced with the dual core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor and the device will also come with support for LTE.
The Samsung Galaxy S III in Canada will get 2GB of RAM instead of the 1GB of RAM on the international version, the rest pf the specifications remain the same.
Samsung have yet to announced when the Galaxy S III will be available in the US, and also the specifications, we wonder if the US version will also come with 2GB of RAM, LTE and the dual core Snapdragon S4 processor.

Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 Lands In June For $349.99

Lenovo announced their latest Android tablet last month, the Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 and now they have announced that it will go on sale in the US in June and will retail for $349.99.
The Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and features a 9.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
Processing is provided by a dual core 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 processor and it also features 1GB of RAM, plus a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat.
The Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 also comes with HDMI, a microUSB port, a microSD card slot that can take up to 32GB cards, plus four external SRS surround sound speakers.

OCZ Launches Agility 4 SSD

OCZ Technology has announced the launch of a new SSD called the Agility 4. The SSD is a 2.5-inch unit that uses the 6 Gbps interface and promises quick operation and reliability. The new SSD uses the Indilinx Everest 2 controller, which features special methods of wear leveling to extend the life of the chips inside the SSD.
The drive will be offered in 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB versions. Pricing is up to around $600 online for the largest versions. The larger versions of the SSD promises sequential read speeds of 400 MB/s and sequential writes of the same speed.
Smaller versions of the drive have sequential reads in the 300 MB/s to 400 MB/s range with sequential writes of 200 MB/s to 300 MB/s. The SSDs are available online right now.
Creative BlasterAxx Bluetooth Speakers With Touch Control

Creative has designed and launched a range of new speakers in the form of the Creative BlasterAxx, which can be powered by a USB 2.0 connection, and can be controlled via Creative Central app for iOS and Android devices or from a computer.
The BlasterAxx speakers are equipped with a patent pending technology, which Creative is keeping quite about at the moment. Together with a touch sensitive control panel on the top, which provides access to five SBX modes including: Surround mode, and Bass mode to name a few.
The Creative BlasterAxx speakers are available in three different sizes SBX 20, SBX 10 and SBX 8, with the tallest SBX 20 being 41cm in height. Creative has also added CrystalVoice technology to reduce noise which uses a dual-microphone setup, together with Bluetooth connectivity to the speakers allowing compatible smartphone and tablets to steam audio directly to the BlasterAxx.
The Creative BlasterAxx speakers will be arriving towards the end of July and will be prices at $199 SBX 20, $149 SBX 10 and$99 SBX 8.

RIM To Release BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 Beta This Week

RIM has announced that they will release the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 Beta before the end of May, so that means some time today or tomorrow, the news was announced by an RIM PlayBook product manager on Twitter.
The new version of RIM BlackBerry tablet OS will come with a range of new features which include multitasking support with Android apps, the use of calendar, email and contacts apps in portrait mode and more.
Other new features will include text messaging via BlackBerry Bridge when your tablet is paired with a smartphone, plus there will also be access to the camera API and in app payments for developers.

VIA ARTiGO A1200 Mini PC Unveiled

VIA has this week unveiled a new addition to their embedded mini PC range in the form of the ARTiGO A1200. The ARTiGO A1200 measures just 23.4 x 12.4 x 3.0cm in size and is equipped with a 1.0GHz VIA Eden X2 dual core processor, supported by up to 4GB of DDR3 1066 SODIMM RAM.
The ultra slim dustproof design uses the industrial buckled-blade thermal fin design to dissipate heat, and the passively cooled design means it also very quiet during operation. The mini PC supports HD video, MPEG-2, DivX, WM9, VC1, and H.264 formats together with hardware acceleration.
The unique dual-sided I/O coastline interface of the ARTiGO A1200 mini PC features 1 x HDMI and 1 x VGA display, 2 x Ethernet ports, 4 x USB 2.0, 1 x CFast socket, 2 x audio jacks, and an optional USB 3.0 host port. Sparrow For iPhone Updated To Version 1.2.1

The popular third party email client for Apple’s iPhone, Sparrow has been update, the new version is Sparrow 1.2.1 and it comes with a couple of new features as well as some bug fixes.
Sparrow 1.2.1 now comes with a left to right swipe in conversation to get back to the message list as well as a range of bug fixes which are listed below.
Bugfixes:
- Improved avatars in message list (thanks to Ellis Hamburger)
- Improved pull to previous/next after loading new messages
- Fix formatting of messages when forwarding
- Fixed display of folder names on gmail account when modifying folder modification
- Fixed crash when deleting batch of conversations
- Fixed crash when using URL scheme without any account configured in sparrow

Dead Space 3 First Teaser Trailer Released (video)

EA Games has released a new trailer for the upcoming Dead Space 3 game, providing you with a glimpse of what you can expect from the survival horror sequel once it arrives. Dead Space is a media franchise created by Glen Schofield, developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts.
Dead Space 3 was first revealed to be in production back in September 2011 by IGN, but very few details are available about the new game and what we can expect, as far as features and gameplay.
Dead Space 3 is expected to arrive around March 2013, but nothing has been officially announced by EA Games at the present time. As more information becomes available we will as always keep you updated.

Fedora 17 Now Ready For Download

After a short delay the latest Fedora 17, has now arrived and is available to download. Fedora 17 nicknamed “Beefy Miracle” during development includes the latest version of the GNOME 3.4 desktop environment and a number of new enhancements under the hood.
As well as Updated developer tools including Juno, Eclipse, GCC 4.7, and Java 7, GIMP 2.8 image editor and improvements for servers and cloud-based applications.
“The latest version of the Fedora Linux operating system’s Desktop Edition. It’s everything you need to try out Fedora — you don’t have to erase anything on your current system to try it out, and it won’t put your files at risk. Take Fedora for a test drive, and if you like it, you can install Fedora directly to your hard drive straight from the Live Media desktop if you like.”
Fedora 17 is now available to download from the Fedora project website, together with more information about all the various flavours of Fedora available.

Windows 8 Release Preview Leaked

Microsoft is expected to launch its Windows 8 Release Preview in the first week of June, although it looks like it may have already been leaked ahead of the official launch.
According to the guys over at The Verge, an ISO for an 8400 build of the Windows 8 Release Preview has been leaked and has appeared on number of Chinese forums.
The leaked build comes with update Metro style apps, including new Travel, News and Sports apps, as well as an update boot screen, wallpaperps cursors and more.

Razer has unveiled a new Battlefield 3 branded custom gaming headset this week, which has been added to its Collector’s Edition gaming peripherals.
The new Razer BlackShark Battlefield 3 gaming headset has been inspired by tactical aviator headsets and has been designed to provide users with extreme comfort for long, extended gaming sessions and provides top-notch sound isolation, says Razer.
The Razer BlackShark Battlefield 3 headset is fitted with 40mm neodymium magnet stereo drivers, a detachable boom microphone, and will be arriving in stores during July for around $130. Robert ‘RazerGuy’ Krakoff, president of Razer USA explains a little more about the new Razer BlackShark gaming headset.

Logitech K760 Solar Powered Mac iOS Keyboard Pairs With Three Devices Simultaneously (video)

Logitech has today unveiled a new addition to their range of keyboards with the launch of the Logitech K760. Which has been designed specifically for Mac and iOS systems, and allows you to pair it with three devices simultaneously. Simply switching between your different devices with a key stroke.
Logitech explains that their K760 keyboard can be charged from indoor lighting and a full charge provides 3 months of use, being used for 8 hours a day, and the construction of the K760 is PVC-free.
The design of the keyboard layout includes Apple-style special functions including: Mission Control, iOS Home, brightness, play/pause, mute, volume, and eject, and even includes a hardware on/off switch.
The Logitech K760 will be arriving in stores next month in both Europe and the U.S. and will be priced around $80.

Dell adds XPS One 27 to its all-in-one lineup

Dell is offering a new all-in-one for back to school. The XPS One 27 all-in-one, which has a sweet 27-inch screen, with an impressive resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. All configurations are going to have Ivy Bridge processors (Core i5 or i7) with up to 16GB of memory, and a 1TB 7,200RPM hard drive that can be swapped for a 2TB HDD or 32GB SSD.
Other features include Waves MaxxAudio 4, Infinity-branded speakers, a Blu-ray drive and optional 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT640M GPU memory (upgradeable from integrated Intel graphics). If that isn’t enough, there is also an optional internal TV tuner, four USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports with power charge, audio out, HDMI, VGA, mic and headphone jacks and an 8-in-1 memory card reader.
The XPS One 27 starts at $1,399, and is available in Asia starting today. It should hit the US in a few weeks.
