Sprint’s HTC EVO 3D Is Discontinued

Fans of 3D phones must be feeling pretty depressed right about now, because Sprint has officially announced that they will be discontinuing the HTC EVO 3D. They didn’t even give it a 3 dimensional funeral. The handset was 3D, but our hearts are left in 2D.
If you want one of these handsets, you’ll need to see what’s left at Sprint’s retail stores, because they won’t restock after these are sold out.

On the bright side, Sprint and HTC are preparing to launch the HTC EVO 4G LTE in Q2 of 2012. The $199 phone will get you a 4.7-inch 720p HD display and 1.3MP front-facing camera. There’s also an 8MP camera in back, a spring-loaded kickstand and microSD slot for 32GB expansion. Word is that it is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset too. It might be a good way to sooth your broken heart over this handset.
