60beat Gamepad: il joypad si collega all’uscita cuffie di iPhone, iPad ed iPod Touch Video
L’offerta di gamepad per i dispositivi iOS non manca, ma quello proposto da 60beat si caratterizza per due peculiarità: in primo luogo si collega al jack delle cuffie dei dispositivi mobili Apple, sfruttando un connessione cablata e non wireless con benefici facilmente percepibili in termini di consumi; in secondo luogo la sua forma ed il layout dei tasti ricordano in tutto e per tutto uno dei tanti controller aftermarket disponibili per le tradizionali console casalinghe come Xbox 360 e la PS3.
La potenza dei dispositivi Apple è progressivamente cresciuta, ed i più recenti device come iPhone 4S ed iPad 2, dotati del processore dual-core A5 e della prestante GPU PowerVR SGX543mp2, si propongono come piattaforme, dedicate al gaming, molto performanti. L’accessorio di cui spesso si è sentita la mancanza è proprio il controller fisico che è in grado di rendere ancora più coinvolgente l’esperienza di gioco.
Tra le varie proposte del mercato quella di 60beat sembra essere molto promettente. Si tratta di un gamepad che integra due stick analogici, la croce direzionale e numerosi tasti fisici. Lasciamo a voi il giudizio proponendovi l’interessante video che segue:

ASUS amplia la propria offerta di periferiche audio con le nuove cuffie Wireless HS-W1, caratterizzate da un’ottima ergonomia ed elevata qualità del suono. Timeline arriverà a Gennaio su Facebook per iPad
In seguito all’introduzione del nuovo profilo Facebook chiamato Timeline (o diario) ed il recente aggiornamento dell’ applicazione per iPhone che aggiunge il supporto a tale funzionalità, 9to5Mac ha annunciato che il noto social network porterà la funzione Timeline anche per su iPad all’inizio del prossimo anno.
Timeline è un nuovo modo di concepire il proprio profilo, un’estensione della propria pagina Facebook che permette a chiunque di creare un vero e proprio diario dove condividere tutti i momenti speciali della propria vita. Consente, infatti, di navigare nel passato e selezionare immagini, attività, informazioni, foto e applicazioni che abbiamo utilizzato, condiviso e commentato negli anni su Facebook.
La nuova funzionalità gira abbastanza bene sul sito mobile di Facebook, così come per quello desktop e sull’applicazione per iPhone. Per quanto riguarda Facebook per iPad, invece, l’aggiornamento dovrebbe essere un mix tra la versione desktop e l’applicazione per iPhone ed iPod Touch:
Il grande Multi-Touch consentirà di avere una versione di Timeline molto intuitiva e sarà una fusione tra la versione web e la versione touch per iPhone/iPod. Si tratta di una versione touch screen ottimizzata per un’esperienza web migliore.
La funzione sarebbe dovuta approdare sui terminali iPad già dalla fine di quest’anno, ma a causa di alcuni bug dell’ultimo minuto ed alcuni problemi riscontrati in fase di testing, c’è stato il rinvio del lancio.

Sony Tablet S Getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
Sony has confirmed that the Sony Tablet S will be getting updated to the latest version of Google’s Android OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the news comes from a Sony Employee who posted the following on their support forums.
“We’re happy to confirm that an update to Android 4.0 will be available for Sony Tablet. Details including timing will be announced in due course, so please stay tuned.”
We don’t as yet have any official date for the launch pf the Android 4.0 update for the Sony Tablet S, as soon as we get some more information we will let you guys know.

Nintendo Working On App Store For Wii U Console
It seems the latest company who intends to launch their own App store is Nintendo, according to a recent report by the Daily, Nintendo are working on their own app store for their Wii U console which will go on sale in 2012.
According to the report, the new Wii U app store will offer full game titles to download to your console, as well as the latest games, as well as other apps which bring other functions to the console.
Some of the possible apps could include email, web browsing and more, which could run on the Wii U controller which features its own built in 6.2 inch display.

The photographs in Nadav Bagim‘s project “WonderLand” might look like paintings or computer generated images, but they’re actually real photographs captured at home using ordinary objects and creative artificial lighting. His tools and props include things like vegetables, plastic bags, flowers, and leaves, and he captures the images using a Canon 60D and 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. Getting his “subjects” into the positions and poses he wants requires countless hours of patient encouraging.

Quad Core Meizu MX Coming Next Year?
Meizu recently announced their latest Android device, the Meizu MX which is scheduled to go on sale in January 2012, and it will come with a dual core 1.4Ghz processor.
We previously heard that Meizu will launch a quad core version of the handset, and it would appear that the quad core Meizu MX will feature Samsung’s new quad core Exynos 4412 processor.
The quad core version is expected to launch in May of 2012, and it will probably come with similar specifications to the dual core version which include 1GB of RAM and a 4 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 640 pixels, plus an 8 megapixel camera and 16GB of built in storage.

Wicked Audio Solus Headphones Surface
There are tons of audio products that are surfacing all the time around the tech world. Wicked Audio is one of the brands that is always offering up new items to check out. Wicked has announced that it will be showing off a new set of over-the-ear headphones at CES 2012.
The headphones are called Solus and they are black with red trim. They are aimed at the person wanting good sound with bass and those that are into DJ work as well. The headphones have a stereo mode and can be changed to DJ mode.
I would assume DJ mode sends all the sound out of one earpiece. Wicked isn’t offering up all the hard details right now, but they should be soon. I would assume all those details would come out at CES. The headphones will be in stores in January for $100.
Samsung Ships 1 Million Galaxy Note Smartphones
It looks like Samsung may have another popular handset, besides the hugely popular Samsung Galaxy S II, the Samsung Galaxy Note, as the company has just announced that they have shipped over 1 million Galaxy Note devices.
The Samsung Galaxy note isn’t your average smartphone, described by Samsung as a combination of a tablet and a smartphone the handset features a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
The Galaxy Note is powered by a dual core 1.4GHz processor and it comes with Android Gingerbread 2.3, plus dual cameras, on the back there is an 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash, on the front there is a 2 megapixel camera for video chat.

Apple To Launch Two iPads In 2012?
According to a recent report by Digitimes, Apple intends to release two iPads in 2012, the first one would be a high end iPad 3 with a 9.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels, dual LED light bars and a new Apple produced A6 processor, plus an 8 megapixel camera.
The report also says that the the other iPad that Apple will release will have similar specifications, and it will come with a 5 megapixel camera and will be cheaper that the first model.
It is also possible that Apple will continue to sell the existing iPad 2 at a much cheaper price than it does at the moment, allowing Apple to compete with cheaper tablets from other manufacturers.
This makes sense because Apple now sells three different versions of the iPhone, the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S, all at different price points, so it would be a good move for them to do something similar with the iPad.

Apple’s Siri Powered HDTV To Offer Custom TV Subscriptions?
We know that Apple is working on their own HDTV, which is rumored to be controlled by Apple’s voice activated virtual assistant, Siri, and we are expecting Apple to launch their HDTV some time next year.
Now According to a recent report Apple may off custom TV channel subscriptions, where you would be able to subscribe to the TV channels you want, and if this is the case it would be good news for consumers.
At the moment with cable TV providers and companies like SKY here in the UK, you have to subscribe to bundles of TV channels, to get the channels you want, but you also get channels in those bundles that you may not want.
This would be great news for consumers, as you would only have to pay for the TV channels you actually watch, rather than pay for bundles of channels.

Google+ punta ai 400 milioni di utenti per la fine del 2012
Nonostante alcune previsioni indichino la fine del 2012 come termine ultimo per la fine del mondo, il Los Angeles Times non la pensa affatto così e stima che gli utenti del social network Google+ arrivino a toccare quota 400 milioni.
Avviato lo scorso mese di Luglio dopo diversi mesi di beta a numero chiuso, da subito ha mostrato le sue potenzialità grazie alla facilità d’uso e offrendo funzionalità che gli altri social network non avevano come i luoghi di ritrovo e la possibilità di videochattare con i propri amici.
Come proiezione si tratta probabilmente di qualcosa di molto ottimistico ma alla fine potrebbe non esserci un reale vincitore o vinto ma benefici e novità nell’eterna competizione nel mondo dei social network.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon, un video sul dietro le quinte della distruzione di Chicago
Questa mattina abbiamo visto la news sul Blu-Ray 3D di Transformers: Dark of the Moon e il cofanetto dell’intera saga che vedremo a Gennaio 2012. A qualche ore di distanza arriva un video già anticipato tempo fa in un applicazione per iPad e ora disponibile per tutti.
Il filmato ci mostra un’intervista alla ILM dove viene descritto “come distruggere una città e cavarsela”. Ovviamente si parla della distruzione di Chicago nel film, a voi il video dopo il salto.
Il Pentagono approva Android per l’utilizzo all’interno del Ministero della Difesa abbandonando BlackBerry!
Il Pentagono sede del quartiere generale del Dipartimento della Difesa degli Stati Uniti d’America, ha reso nota l’approvazione per l’utilizzo della piattaforma Android dal personale addetto alla struttura. Android Froyo 2.2 è la distribuzione scelta che verrà privata di Android Market per non essere utilizzato evitando eventuali problemi mentre ogni chiamata sarà monitorata attraverso un server proxy. Il device che andrà in dotazione è il Dell Venue, abbandonando l’ottimo lavoro svolto fina ad ra da BlackBerry ma giudicato da qualche tempo troppo incline a problemi di sicurezza. Infine anche iOS è sotto test di approvazione ma il complicato software di sicurezza e l’eccessiva tracciabilità dei dispositivi Apple ne stanno ritardando l’adozione.
Nissan Leaf sarà il primo taxi elettrico di New York
New York è una città inconfondibile per il suo skyline e il tappeto di taxi gialli che intasano giorno e notte le trafficate strade. Fra poco in mezzo a loro partirà un progetto pilota che porterà 6 Nissan Leaf totalmente elettriche a lavorare a pieno regime su apposite tratte, con l’obiettivo di portare buoni risultati entro l’anno 2012 ed espandersi a macchia d’olio in città.
Uno dei problemi da affrontare è l’assenza delle stazioni di ricarica necessarie dopo aver percorso dai 100 ai 220 km: attualmente sono considerate attivabili la stazione principale e gli aeroporti. Per questo motivo si sta pensando di dotare ogni flotta con almeno due di queste Nissan in modo tale che quando una sarà in carica l’altra potra essere operativa.L’inserimento di soli 6 taxi non risolverà certo il problema delle emissioni in una città come New York dove ne girano giornalmente circa 13 mila. Un progetto comunque da lodare che saremmo estremamente felici di sostenere anche nelle nostre città.

LG unveils 84-inch ‘ultra definition’ 4K TV it’s bringing to CES 2012
LG let us know at CES 2011 that it had 4K LCD televisions in the pipeline, but unfortunately they didn’t make it out this year. Expect for that to change in 2012, as the company just announced it’s bringing an 84-inch “ultra definition” (3840×2160) TV to Las Vegas to go along with its 55-inch OLED. It has all of LG’s Cinema 3D and Smart TV features built-in, including support for that upgraded Magic Motion remote and voice control. There’s no official word yet on when we’ll see these on shelves or at what price, but it certainly looks production ready compared to other prototypes that have been displayed over the years. While we don’t have easy sources of 4K-res video content yet, one of the reasons LG is making the jump first is for 3D. Its Cinema 3D tech uses a Film Pattern Retarder (FPR) screen and passive glasses that result in lowered resolution, but with those extra pixels there’s no question about whether viewers are still getting at least an HD picture. So far 4K at home is the domain of Sony and JVC’s high-priced projectors, but we’ll see if any other companies (we’ll check off Toshiba right now) show off upgrades in size and resolution of their HDTVs this year.
